Hla Castletown In the centre of Hla lies a large city, Hla Castletown, built around the glorious Hla Castle, home of King Hadrian. The city is surrunded by a large wall, making it much like a fortress. The gates to the city open at sunrise and close at sunset and once a week, farmers from the outskirts all bring their crops into town and the main street is transformed in to a giant market. The castle itself is a soaring structure, with spires and flags billowing in the wind. Each storey within the castle opens out onto a large balcony, patroled by guards. The highest watch point can see right out over the valla, and on a clear day you can see Mt Tora. |

Lake Hla The lake seems to go on forever. Standing on the shore, you can barely see the other side. The lake, littered with islands, ranging from sandbanks to forested islands, glitters in the sunlight. The water remains a gloriously cool temperature all year as it feeds from the snowcaps of the Tora Mountains. However, in winter, the lake freezes over, providing a new world to explore. In the warmer months, many gather here, for fishing, picnics or just exploring. This is a wonderous place to be. |

Hla Bushland The bushland that covers a vast area of Hla's territory is scruffy and only vaguely appealing. There are paths that cut through the sparse trees and these paths create the main route towards (and away from) Hla Castletown and the Lake. They also spider-web out to other places which are generally unexplored. Those tracks fade and fade as you walk, so make sure you are committed if you choose to trawl unfamiliar terrain. |
