You may have noticed that for every post you receive 5 coins, but your gold total never changes. That is because you can only receive gold for certain things. Competitions will often give out gold as prizes, but only in small amounts. You can also receive gold through random events that can occur at any time. But the best way to get gold is to roleplay. Within the shop you will find a place called "The Bazaar". The Bazaar is where the rarest and most powerful items and powers are sold. You can only purchase these with gold, which can be claimed within the bazaar. You can claim gold for completing threads, participating in duels, getting married, having children and even for dying in certain ways. You can also receive gold by refering someone to the site. When they join, tell them to PM your USERNAME (not display name) to the admin or co-admin and you will receive some nice gifts (including gold) Coins, as said before are received simply through posting, and can only be used to buy weaker items and basic magic. Competitions will also give coins, and they can received through random events, much like gold. You can also receive coins by referring new members. Coins cannot be used to purchase gold, but gold can be transfered into coins, should you wish. Coins and gold can be gifted to other players, simply PM an admin and they can gift them. You can also leave a message for the admin to pass on. In the end, coins are common currency, but having a lot of gold does not mean you will have the best characters or the best roleplaying experience. WtDS does not revolve around money. Simply because the real world does. And we roleplay to escape the real world, don't we? |
